Sustainability
Kingsway is fully aware of the growing need to support more sustainable modes of transport to, from and around the Business Park in order to minimise the negative impact on the environment and reduce congestion. Our aim is:
"To implement measures within and around Kingsway so that the majority of employees have the opportunity to get to work by sustainable modes of transport, thereby encouraging a better quality of life for employers, employees and surrounding residents, improving the environment and enhancing the local economy."
In order to achieve this vision it is intended provisions will be made for the following:
- Car sharing
- Shuttle buses around the park and to and from nearby transport centres
- Encouraging and facilitating cycling (dedicated cycleway and facilities)
- Encouraging and facilitating walking (safe, well-lit pedestrianised walkways)
- Park and Ride schemes
Other initiavies to reduce the negative impact on the environment include facilitating working from home, flexitime and the employment of local labour. On-site facilities such as newsagents, sandwich bars, dry cleaners, cash dispenser, gym, crèche, hairdresser, post office and medical centre will reduce the need for people to travel away from Kingsway during their working day.
